A glamorous Art-Deco landmark overlooking Copacabana Beach, Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel, built in 1923, defines luxury in Rio de Janeiro. All the rooms and suites conjure up the elegance and glamour of a time when Marlene Dietrich and Orson Welles were among the many illustrious guests of the hotel. It was designed by French architect Joseph Gire and inspired by the Hotel Negresco in Nice and the Hotel Carlton in Cannes. Inside this iconic hotel, in addition to luxurious hospitality, a semi-olympic size swimming pool (the biggest hotel pool in Rio) invites guests to kick back and cool off. What makes this hotel even more special is its celebrated cuisine, boasting three restaurantes - two of them awarded Michelin stars.
