Housed in the stately 18th-century Hôtel-Dieu de Marseille, this five-star InterContinental opened in April 2013 after a multi-year conversion of the historic hospital building, which had served the city for over eight centuries. The renovation preserved its grand Baroque façade and layered architectural styles while introducing Art-Deco-inspired interiors by Jean-Philippe Nuel. The hotel now offers 172 rooms and 22 suites - many with views over the Vieux-Port - two notable restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Alcyone, and abundant event space. Recognized for its architectural rebirth, it received France’s HQE green-building certification and the MIPIM Award for Best Refurbished Building.
